Trailborn Jackson Hole: A New Era of Outdoorsy Hospitality in a Beloved Mountain Town

For years, Jackson Hole has held a special place in my mind as the quintessential western mountain town. The allure of unbeatable skiing, authentic saloons, and proximity to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, combined with the iconic Tetons and free-roaming bison, has always captivated me. Despite its popularity with tourists – a constant influx of adventure-seekers, bachelorette parties, and second-home owners – Jackson Hole has managed to retain its charm and authentic western feel.

A Refreshed Mountain Retreat

My recent visit was made even more memorable by a stay at the newly renovated Trailborn Jackson Hole. Originally built in the 1970s as the Snow King Resort Hotel, it underwent a complete renovation and reflagged as a Marriott property, joining the Trailborn Hotels and Resorts brand, which is part of Marriott’s Outdoor Collection. The best part? It's bookable with Marriott points.

Trailborn Jackson Hole exudes a welcoming atmosphere with its warm tones, nods to local culture, ski lodge vibes, and incredibly friendly staff, ushering in a new era of hospitality at the base of Snow King Mountain.

Know Before You Go

The Vibe: A laidback, design-forward mountain lodge, perfectly suited for a mountain town hotel. Guests included families, multigenerational groups, couples, and adventure travelers.

The Location: Situated at the base of Snow King Mountain Resort (operated separately), it's a ten-minute walk to downtown Jackson Hole.

Getting There: The hotel is 10 miles (15-20 minutes) from Jackson Hole Airport (JAC). Taxis, rideshares, and a limited shuttle service (call ahead) are available.

Parking: On-site parking is available, but no valet service.

Size: With 203 rooms and suites, the resort doesn't feel overwhelming and is easy to navigate. It’s also notably quiet at night.

Food and Drink: A full-service restaurant on-site offers a breakfast buffet, lunch, and dinner.
