Startup cruise line Explora Journeys, which launched in 2023, is already making a splash with its loyalty program, the Explora Club. Despite its youth, the luxury brand is treating its most loyal customers to significant discounts, onboard credits, and even a free cruise for two at its highest tier.
Explora Journeys Loyalty Program Offers Unprecedented Perks for Repeat Customers
Explora Journeys' Explora Club loyalty program has two ways to earn points:
1. Spending nights on Explora ships: Members earn a baseline 100 points per night, with additional points for higher-end suites. The points earned per night increase with the type of suite booked:
- Ocean Suite: 100 points per night
- Ocean Penthouse: 200 points per night
- Ocean Residence: 300 points per night
- Owner's Residence: 1,000 points per night
2. Spending money on ships: Members earn 100 points for every 1,000 euros or dollars spent on most fee-based extras like spa treatments and premium drinks. Points are earned in blocks of 100, so members must spend more than 1,000 euros or dollars to earn points.
Notable exceptions to earning points include onboard boutiques like Encore by Explora Journeys, Rolex, Cartier, Panerai, Piaget, and Buccellati, as well as onboard casinos.
The Explora Club has five tiers, with benefits increasing at each level:
- Classic (upon joining)
- Silver (1 to 5,000 points)
- Gold (5,001 to 20,000 points)
- Platinum (20,001 to 50,000 points)
- Diamond (50,001 or more points)
Members achieve status in each tier after completing the required number of points. The top tier, Diamond, offers the ultimate perk: a free cruise for two. Only a handful of other brands, like Royal Caribbean, offer this level of loyalty reward.
Explora Journeys recently enhanced its loyalty options by expanding its partnership with Hilton, providing more opportunities for members to earn points. With its generous rewards and unique perks, the Explora Club is setting a new standard in the cruise line loyalty program universe.
