Chase Introduces Points Boost for Higher Rewards Redemption

Chase has launched Points Boost, a new feature allowing cardholders to redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points for select hotels and flights through Chase Travel at higher values than the standard 1 cent per point rate.

How Points Boost Works

Points Boost can offer redemption values up to 2 cents per point for cardholders with the Chase Sapphire Reserve or Sapphire Reserve for Business, while the Chase Sapphire Preferred typically offers values around 1.5 cents per point. The feature is often available at properties listed on Chase’s curated ‘The Edit’ platform.

Card-Specific Values

Here’s a breakdown of Points Boost values by card:

• Chase Sapphire Reserve: Up to 2 cents per point for hotels and flights.
• Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business: Up to 2 cents per point for hotels and flights.
• Chase Sapphire Preferred: Up to 1.5 cents per point for hotels, and up to 1.75 cents per point for flights.
• Ink Business Preferred: Up to 1.5 cents per point for hotels (not eligible through The Edit), and up to 1.75 cents per point for flights.

Using Points Boost

To utilize Points Boost, search for flights or hotels within Chase Travel as usual. Cardholders can filter results to “Points Boost only” to prioritize eligible options, which are identified by a small rocket icon next to the points price. Third-party tool Points Path can also highlight potential redemption values.
