Cancún gets a new all-inclusive face: hilton’s amàre promises a luxe escape

Hilton is injecting a dose of exclusivity into Cancún’s hotel scene, swapping the breezy Breathless Cancún Soul Resort & Spa for the adults-only Amàre Cancun, Curio by Hilton – and it’s arriving just in time for those seeking refuge from the encroaching autumn chill.

A refined retreat takes root

The transformation, slated for completion by October 31st, isn’t a radical overhaul. Forty-two-nine rooms and suites, boasting light, airy designs and balconies overlooking either the Nichupté Lagoon or the turquoise Caribbean, remain largely untouched. But the subtle shifts – enhanced public areas and a significant upgrade to the culinary offerings – suggest a deliberate repositioning towards a more discerning clientele. Forget the bright, boisterous atmosphere of its predecessor; Amàre aims for a sophisticated, Mediterranean-inspired vibe.

Don’t expect a minimalist experience. The resort will pulse with nine bars and nine restaurants, headlined by dining concepts meticulously crafted in collaboration with Michelin-starred chefs. These aren’t mere tourist traps; the concept blends sophisticated Mediterranean techniques with the vibrant flavors of Mexico and Latin America – think smoky chilies meeting delicate Provençal sauces. A quick caffeine fix is readily available, too.

Beyond the basics

Beyond the indulgent food and drink, Amàre is layering on experiences. Signature sunrise rituals, wellness programs drawing on Mediterranean traditions, and a curated entertainment schedule featuring resident DJs and live performers will contribute to a sense of elevated leisure. There’s even a 10,000-square-foot spa, plus meeting space for those who require a touch of business amidst the relaxation, and a fully equipped fitness center. Pablo Maturana, Hilton’s vice president for Caribbean and Latin America, stated that Amàre represents “a distinctive adults-only all-inclusive resort” to their portfolio.

Opening rates and booking

Initial rates begin around $308 per night for double occupancy, with Hilton Honors members receiving a significant perk – 89,000 points for booking. This isn’t a discount; it’s a carefully calibrated entry point for a resort that clearly intends to command a premium.
