Ahead of expectations, the outlook for business Travel has gained significant strength, closely tied to rapid advances in artificial intelligence. According to new findings from American Express Global Business Travel, published just after the start of March 2026, data gathered the previous month reveals a shared belief among workers in both the UK and the US that ease around work-related journeys is likely within five years' time.

Behind this rise in optimism are expectations around smart technology streamlining business Travel. Many now believe artificial intelligence could reshape how trips unfold. Business travelers appreciate how AI offers customized suggestions along with specific guidance for trips.

Over the next few years, many anticipate AI will handle repetitive work that eats up time – things like sorting through options, organizing schedules, booking flights, hotels, and transportation, shopping and managing purchases during trips, and providing real-time support for issues encountered on the road.

Trust in AI's role has grown, with 72% of business travelers seeing it manage reservations without issue, and roughly seven out of ten believing AI could respond well to problems that arise during trips.
