American Express Expands Fine Hotels + Resorts, The Hotel Collection to Over 3,400 Properties

American Express Travel is significantly expanding its luxury hotel programs, Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Hotel Collection, to include more than 350 new properties worldwide, marking their 35th anniversary.

New Properties Added

The expansion brings the combined portfolio to over 3,400 hotels across 116 countries, encompassing destinations like Japan, New Zealand, Morocco, and Argentina. Cardholders will have access to a wider selection when booking through Amex Travel.

Notable New Hotels

Recent additions to the collections include: Nagoya Castle in Nagoya, Japan; Casa Lucia in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Fontainebleau Miami Beach in Miami Beach, Florida; Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa in Honolulu, Hawaii; One&Only Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana; Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; ROKI Queenstown in Queenstown, New Zealand; Selman Marrakech in Marrakech, Morocco; Six Senses London in London, United Kingdom; and The Lake Como EDITION in Cadenabbia, Italy.

Program Details

Audrey Hendley, president of American Express Travel, explained that the Hotel Curation Team assesses each property based on premium cardmember preferences. Fine Hotels + Resorts focuses on luxury, while The Hotel Collection offers a curated selection of premium properties. American Express declined to disclose any hotels that have left the programs during this expansion.

Access Requirements

The Hotel Collection is available to a broader range of American Express cardholders, including the Platinum, Business Platinum, Gold, Business Gold, and Centurion Cards. Fine Hotels + Resorts is limited to the Platinum, Business Platinum, American Express Corporate Platinum, and Centurion Cards.
