Points battle heats up: two tpgers compete with chase sapphire preferred
In a thrilling new edition of The Points Guy's Points Battle series, two TPG teammates went head-to-head to plan the ultimate trips using their Chase Sapphire Preferred cards.
Lyndsey matthews takes the wheel
Senior travel editor Lyndsey Matthews received a mysterious text from founder Brian Kelly instructing her to Brian's office. There, she found her colleague Tanner Saunders, who had also gotten the cryptic message. Inside, they discovered a magic wheel of trip themes and instructions to spin it three times each to determine their destinations and experiences.
Lyndsey landed on visiting a rainforest climate, seeing a wonder of the world, and eating a food she had never tried before. Meanwhile, Tanner's spin revealed a desert climate and staying in a bucket-list hotel, a perfect fit for his role as senior hotel reporter.

Tanner saunders' turn
Tanner was excited to spin the wheel thrice over to plan his adventure. As it turned out, he would be heading to a desert climate and staying in a bucket-list hotel, a perfect fit for this hotel reporter. It also gave him a chance to put his Chase Sapphire Preferred card's $50 hotel credit to work.
With adventure calling, Brian informed the duo they would each have up to 150,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to turn their trips into reality, and that the winner would take home another 150,000 points for a trip that didn't require trouncing a coworker.

Points are a battlefield: planning 2 epic trips
Before any trip, planning is a must. Our two TPGers got to work seeing how far their points could take them and hammering out every detail. Lyndsey headed to New Zealand for outdoor adventures and wine tastings, while Tanner explored the desert landscapes and luxury hotels.
Congratulations to both contestants, and stay tuned to see how Tanner uses the points he won!
