Many of the most rewarding travel credit cards – think American Express Platinum and Business Platinum – aren’t just about racking up points; they’re about unlocking a world of exclusive airport experiences. The lounge landscape: more than just centurion

American Express has built a sophisticated network, dubbed the ‘Global Lounge Collection,’ that extends far beyond its flagship Centurion Lounges. While those offer a truly luxurious experience – think private bars, gourmet meals, and a haven from the travel chaos – cardholders also gain access to a surprisingly diverse range of options.

U.S. Platinum and Business Platinum cardmembers pay $50 per guest age 18 or older and $30 for guests aged two to 17. However, spending $75,000 annually unlocks complimentary guest access for up to two visitors, a considerable benefit for families or travel companions. This rule applies for the remainder of the calendar year, the following year, and until January 31st of the subsequent year.
