Citi AAdvantage Executive Card Adds $500 in Annual American Airlines Vacations Credits
The Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite Mastercard® is introducing a new perk to help offset its annual fee: up to $500 in annual statement credits on eligible American Airlines Vacations purchases. This comes alongside an increase in the card's annual fee from $595 to $695.
Understanding the New Credit Structure
Beginning August 23, cardholders can earn up to $250 in statement credits from January through June and another up to $250 from July through December when booking eligible American Airlines Vacations packages or experiences. Statement credits typically appear within eight to ten weeks after a qualifying purchase.
To receive the credit, purchases must be made with the Citi / AAdvantage Executive card and booked through AAVacations.com.

What Qualifies as an Eligible Purchase?
It's important to note that this credit isn't for general American Airlines travel. Purchases made directly through AA.com, including standalone airfare, do not qualify. Eligible travel packages must include at least two travel components, such as:
- A flight and hotel
- A flight and rental car
- A hotel and rental car
The benefit also extends to eligible American Airlines Vacations Experiences, including destination activities and excursions.

When is the Credit Most Valuable?
The credit is most valuable for those who:
- Already book vacation packages
- Take at least two vacations each year
- Don't mind booking through a portal
It's less valuable if you typically book flights, hotels, and rental cars separately, primarily travel for business, or are loyal to specific hotel or car rental programs.

Tips for Maximizing the Credit
Consider booking a weekend getaway by bundling airfare and hotel through American Airlines Vacations to potentially qualify for the statement credit.
