Alaska airlines unveils ambitious plans for luxe seattle lounge

alaska Airlines is set to open its most expansive and upscale lounge yet at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) by late 2027. Spanning 41,000 square feet across two levels, this premium outpost will surpass the airline's current lounge offerings in terms of size and amenities.

Exclusive top floor for long-haul flyers

The second floor will be reserved for travelers in premium cabins, featuring lie-flat seats on long-haul flights. This tiered layout aims to provide a more exclusive experience akin to high-end lounges offered by United Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines.

Key features of this elevated space include shower suites and a la carte dining options. Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci emphasized the importance of delivering a cohesive, premium experience for customers who invest in the airline's long-haul product.

A new era for alaska airlines at sea

This lounge development marks a significant step in Alaska's ambitions to establish itself as a major global carrier. By 2030, the airline plans to launch at least a dozen long-haul international routes from SEA, previously operating only domestic and short-haul services.

Alaska has already begun this expansion with the introduction of nonstop flights to Rome, launching on March 12, and London's Heathrow Airport starting March 17.

The airline's existing lounge space within the plans will cater to members of Alaska's Lounge or Lounge+ programs, as well as those with day passes via premium credit cards. SEA currently boasts three standard Alaska Lounge locations, with a particularly notable outpost on the N Concourse serving international travelers.
